1. Making the bed.

Yes it looks nice when you do it, but honestly at the end of the day, all you’re going to do is mess it up again. Plus, when you pull your sheets back you allow moisture created during the night a chance to evaporate and everything can air out. This is one simple task that you can skip everyday that will make your cleaning routine easier.

Just make sure you maintain clean sheets and pillows but other than that your bed does not have to be perfectly made every single day.

2. Cleaning windows.

Cleaning your windows is a chore that doesn’t have to be completed every single week, especially if you have window coverings or blinds.

Save this task for a good thorough cleaning at least once at the beginning or end of each season.

3. Dusting.

I personally hate seeing a thin layer of dust on my home furnishings but when it comes to saving time, dusting weekly can be skipped.

It’s better to be proactive when it comes to dusting such as preventing it from settling on your things in the first place by cleaning your ceiling fan blades regularly or trying these dusting tricks.  Whatever the case may be, dusting can be saved for a once a month cleaning task.

4. Mopping.

Shave some serious time off your cleaning routine by skipping daily or weekly mopping and opting to spot clean with a wet cloth.

In high traffic areas, such as the kitchen and bathroom it can be counterproductive to mop these floors daily. Just be sure to keep a cleaning cloth handy to quickly clean up spills and other messes.

These are 4 of many household chores and tasks that can be skipped so that you have more time to focus on things that need your immediate attention. If you enjoyed this post, you might enjoy: 7 Simple Cleaning Hacks That’ll Save You a Ton of Time
