Clean your house fast with these tricks.

1. Open windows.

Open as many windows as you can. Preferably in the kitchen, bathroom or any other room where you will have your guests.

2. Take out the trash.

Having stinky trash in the kitchen can make your entire house smell bad.  Get it out of the house as soon as possible. Pour Pine-sol, bleach or any of your favorite cleaners on a cotton ball and throw into the bottom of your trashcan before replacing the bag.

3. Place dishes in the dishwasher.

If you don’t have a dishwasher, fill your sink with water and add a few splashes of bleach or your favorite cleaner to get rid of bad smells.

4. Wipe off kitchen counters with soapy water or disinfecting wipes.

I always keep a stash of Clorox disinfecting wipes on hand, however just warm, soapy water will work just fine to wipe down your counters.

5. Use a garbage bag to pick up all items off of the floor.

You’ll have time to sort this stuff out later. Just grab and go! Toss in a closet or bedroom when you are done.

6. Vacuum/Sweep!

Vacuum your carpets or if you have hardwood floors sweep like crazy!

7. Spray and scrub toilet.

When guest are coming over, the toilet should be one of the first things you clean.

Moving on to your toilet, make sure you use a good disinfecting cleaner to get rid of bad smells. Scrub and flush.

8. Remove everything from bathroom counters and place under the sink.

If there’s a ton of stuff on your counter, place it underneath your sink and wipe your counters down with a disinfecting wipe or warm, soapy water.

9. Close all bedroom doors.

Hey, no one really needs to see what’s going on in there. However, if your intentions are to bring a guest into your bedroom, use a garbage bag to pick up miscellaneous items and change your bedsheets.

10. Flip couch cushions.

If your couch cushions are cleaner on the underside, flip them over to hide stains and tears.

11. Spray air freshener in the bathroom and areas where you’ll be entertaining your guests.

Use Febreeze to deodorize your room before guest arrive.

Give each room a quick spray of air freshener or use Febreeze to deodorize your couches and bed mattresses.

By the time your guests arrive, your house should be smelling wonderful and at least appearing to be neat and tidy.
